Something new for the 2010-2011 school year is the availability of a dual language preschool (starting at age 2) and parochial school K – 8 education in nearby, Deerfield, IL. The program serves as a learning opportunity for families in the northern suburbs. The Hellenic Center, located on Lake Cook Road, only a short distance from St. Basil Church. St. Basil parishioner, Vlad Rokvic, email@example.com is the Serbian language teacher now working at the Hellenic Center. He enables the Center to offer a Serbian English dual-language educational experience.

St. Sava Academy of Chicago, now in it’s 15th year, is located at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Chicago. It developed as a school through a five-year partnership with the Socrates Greek School, now located at the Hellenic Center in Deerfield. St. Sava Academy of Chicago offers a dual language education, preK – grade 8 in Serbian or Russian. St. Sava Academy is a preschool through eighth grade parochial school. The Academy provides comprehensive, daily, dual-language instruction, along with a Serbian Orthodox perspective. The focus on Orthodox, family, moral, ethnic and cultural values, culminates into an exceptional educational experience for future generations.
Enrollment offerings begin with preschool (age 3) and continue through the eighth grade. At each grade-level, class size is kept to a very favorable student/teacher ratio, with an attention to instructional innovations. Each classroom is equipped with computers, in addition to a computer lab for technology instruction. The highly qualified, trained, experienced and devoted faculty is dedicated to supporting the highest educational standards. The Academy has earned Illinois State Board of Education registration as a parochial school and the seal of biliteracy on their 8th grade diplomas. They are recognized like the Hellenic Academy by all schools in Illinois.
