We are so honor to announce that an exhibition: “Bishop Irinej Ciric (1884-1955)” was opened in the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, Serbia, on May 15, 2017. The grand opening was on the second day of the regular session of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church now taking place in Belgrade.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej officially opened this exhibit. He addressed a gathering at the museum opening with kind and humble words about life and mission of +Bishop Irinej Ciric. Deacon Vladimir Radovanovic, director of the Museum greeted the bishops, ambassadors and visitors at the museun grand opening. He thanked everyone for attending, especially Dr. Gordana Petkovic for creating this exhibit and honoring Bishop Irinej Ciric – the steadfast confessor of Orthodox faith.

The mayor of city of Novi Sad – Mr. Milos Vucevic, also in attendance, pointed out the importance of Bishop Irinej Ciric for this city and said that his honesty and nobleness is remembered still today. Bishop Irinej Bulovic, the current bishop in Novi Sad, who initiated the idea of this museum exhibit honoring Bishop Ciric. His comment included that his predecessor +Bishop Ciric was truly a Christ-like man. The museim exhibition includes photographs of Bishop Irinej Ciric, as well as, his personal belongings: vestments, rods, books and prayer ropes collected from his Diocese of Backa and the Ciric Family from Novi Sad. This important exhibition will be open until September 10, 2017.

+Bishop Ciric is the uncle of Dr. Ivan Ciric, of the Chicago area. Dr. Ciric was born and grew up in Novi Sad where many family still reside. Dr. Ciric has been to his home there over the years. He is a well-known neurosurgeon and author of the book, Listen to the Patient. Dr. Ciric is also a steward of St. Basil of Ostrog Church in Lake Forest-Mettawa, IL.
